Val O'Connor has been a resident of South Florida since 1986. She was raised in Cleveland and Philadelphia, lived in Israel for 2 years and spent a summer in Guatemala. Attended Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and Temple University. Later lived in Toledo, Ohio and Sherman Oaks, Ca. Worked in accounting for 25 years and has been working with wood since 1993 and loves the three dimensional quality of it versus the canvas. Thanks Shelley for your wonderful insight! And yes it was fun serving as a juror.
Inspired Nature Photography By Shelley Myke
Such a wonderfully artful and almost abstract work of art. You have combined color, composition and interest so very well Val. Voted. It was a pleasure serving with you as a juror in the Small Towns Contest.

Thanks Cheri! While we had the banana trees I took pictures from all angles!

Teresa, I just added a gallery called Banana Split on my site...check it out. I put some of the banana pod photos on that I photographed while they were growing on the trees.

LOL...I took a lot of photos of the bananas growing in our trees, our back yard was like an orchard until I finally cut them all down. We had soooo many bananas couldn't keep up with them. But the formations were so cool at the different stages. I'll have to upload some of the photos onto my site.

that is kinda freaky...looks like an alien has hold of it
